OMG !! This hotel is so amazing, I would love to visit and I suspect would not want to leave. It is the first hotel designed by Martin Margiela. I love everything about it, especially the fabulous wallpaper that is made to look like french paneling, doors and even a fireplace. I am so going to try and source some for Rockett St George.

Dessert Bar at the Pollen Street Social

On a night out in London recently we visited the Pollen Street Social (Jason Atherton's new restaurant). To my total delight they have a Dessert Bar where you can pop in and enjoy their delicious offerings. We had eaten sushi earlier but need something else and this was just perfect. We had Traditional English rice pudding, hay ice-cream & lime jelly and Tiramisu with hot chocolate coffee.

The food was mouth watering, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun and the experience of the Dessert Bar totally unique. The chef's behind the bar were happy to chat and discuss the dishes and Mr Atherton himself was an excellent host and making everyone feel welcome.

I will be booking dinner very soon - what a fabulous place to spend an evening.

Whilst flicking through Elle Deco this month I stumbled across an article on the 'Photography as Object' exhibition at the Sumarria Lunn Gallery in Mayfair featuring a collection of artists including Darren Harvey-Regan, Julie Cockburn, Francis Mason and Noemie Goudal. The objective of the exhibition is to prove that photography can be so much more than just an image. I immediately googled the artists and found these stunning images by Noemie Goudal. They completely took my breath away and I thought I should share them with you.

Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair

What a great day out we had at the fabulous Art car boot fair, in Brick Lane in the rain!! Fantastic art work from from Damien Hirst, the Chapman Brothers, Marcus Harvey, Angela de la Cruz, Peter Blake, Gavin Turk, Tracey Emin, Harland Miller, Polly Morgan, Ian Dawson, Pretty Taxing, Bob and Roberta Smith, Ryan Mosley to name but a few.

I also loved Beyond the Valley, Afloat, and Constant & True. Great food, Music and face painting too complete the fun. Tempted by a signed egg from Gavin Turk but I did purchase a pint of art from Afloat and a fabulous picture called I still love you. A Victorian portrait, repainted.

She is a self confessed 'collectaholic' storing papers, butterflies, buttons, foil sweet wrappers in boxes. She has succeeded in using her collections to create stunning art pieces. She must have the patience of a rather godly saint in order to make these, but the results are superb.

Wasp is a design duo based in North London. They produce hand printed cushions using vintage, British, upcycled fabrics. Each piece is hand crafted and hand printed, using combinations of military canvases, waxed cottons, great quality wools and denims. I recently spied some Rory Dobner rorydobner.com prints at Liberty, London, and have meant to check him out further for some time. Today I finally did and his work has taken my breath away.

His combination of typography and illustrations are just beautiful. I would just love to be able to offer his beautiful tiles to our customers at Rockett St George. Plus I am now totally obsessed and cannot stop thinking about is 'Albert' the duck. I have to have an Albert of my own.

North London's best kept secret is the fabulous Season Kitchen & Dining Room. Located on Stroud Green Road, they offer a modern British eatery with a weekly changing menu focused on seasonal produce. Giles Coren recently gave them a fantastic review so if you live in the area or even if you have to travel a bit it is definitely worth a visit.

Plus we had a little something to do with the decor.... very proud.

This weekend I spent a blissful weekend at Babington House. I totally relaxed by swimming, eating wonderful food, spa treatments and totally chilling out.

I noticed that they use these vintage tea light holders as little vases in the stunning Orangery Restaurant. They had planted them with miniature orchids and they look beautiful - what a great idea.

For a few years now my very lovely boyfriend has been taking me away to the fabulous B&B Swan House in Hastings for a bit of quality time. Swan House is a beautifully designed haven for relaxation based in the heart of the Old Town.

Now the very clever owners have opended The Old Rectory which I am yet to visit but will definitely booking in very soon. The website looks amazing and I am sure it will be up to my beloved Swan House's standards.

I think it is so hard to find exciting clothes for men, so when I discovered Huxley Knitwear (huxleyclothing.co.uk) I thought I should share it with you all immediately. Launched in 2009 by Benjamin Benton due to extreme boredom with grey, black, brown and blue knitwear for men.

I visited the Linda florence exhibition at the Penny cambers open studios this weekend. Linda Florence blends diverse sources such as traditional floral flocked wallpaper motifs with 80s computer graphics. Above is her "scratch card" wallpaper where you scratch and reveal a pattern. All her designs have long term appeal they change over time and evolve. The ever changing product is wonderful. she specializes in lazer cutting, flooring and wallpaper.

Lovely Lauren Moriarty emailed me today with the most spectacular concrete tile. Knowing as she does that I love Jethro Macey's concrete Lace Floor Tiles, (See 1 March post) she knew I would love this.

Just when you think you've seen everything that can be done with concrete, along comes another surprise. Developed by Netherlands-based designers Frederick Molenschot and Susanne Happle, Solid Poetry is a concrete tile that reveals a pattern when wet. The floral patterns depicted here are the result of a carefully-applied surface treatment that reveals itself only when exposed to water or humid air.

She now has stunned us all with her incredible sculptural super size chunky charm bracelets. Being small in stature, Nicola makes all her items in super size. She also describes her work as 'fragile things I was never allowed to touch in shops.'

I love this bracelet and think that to have it hanging on a wall in my home would create the ultimate talking point. I even may try out these delicately naughtly nipple tassles!

Sorry to have been so quiet for a few days - a mixture of my birthday and school holidays has obliterated time itself. But now it has slowed and I can share with you a few gorgeous bits and bobs. I noticed a tiny image of a tile in a magazine a few months back and checked the stockist - 3cubed run by Rosie Simmons. I had not heard of the company, so I immediately googled and found these breath-taking pretty tile and ceramic designs. We love the use of insects and butterflies in design and these totally tickle our fancy. 3cubed is a sister company to the fabulous Timorous Beasties another site well worth checking out.

Rosie Simmons is a ceramicist, free-lance designer and design consultant. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art and then obtained a MA distinction in Ceramic Design for Industry at Staffordshire University after which she worked for five years as a surface pattern designer for Josiah Wedgwood & Sons.

Now based in London she has been working for seven years as free-lance designer, consultant in trend forecasting, and as a visiting lecturer at Central St Martin's School of Art. Recent clients include many major retailing firms such as Woolworths, Sainsbury's, W.G.S.N., Copes & Trimmins and Royal Copenhagen.

The Tokyo based yoga studio Illoiha has a new fantastic climbing wall with the concept of "becoming beautiful through movement". The design uses the mismatch between a rugged outdoor sport and Tokyo's fashion district to its advantage. Instead of the usual rough and outdoorsy climbing wall, they came up with the idea of using interior design elements like picture frames, mirrors, deer heads, bird cages and flower vases to create a challenging wall with hard-to-find holds and unusual finger grips. I do hope that this starts a new wave of mixing fitness with style.

We are loving the change in season. Although it is cold, the blue skies and spring flowers are making us smile - not long now to summer. There are certain items that I thought I would never buy. A toilet roll cover, a foot spa, a mug tree... But cleaver designer Vicki Turner has turned my view of Mug Trees on it head. When I heard that LG and Prada were launching a £600 mobile phone I smirked and dismissed it as ridiculous. But now I have seen this beautiful little beast I am ashamed to say I want one so much it hurts.

Apparently Prada and LG have not only produced a gorgeous slim line design but the phone uses breakthrough technology. This includes an advanced touch interface eliminating the need for a conventional key pad, 2 mega-pixel camera, mp3 player, video player and document viewer. When not in use it all disappears and reverts back to pure uninterrupted black. Check out the amazingly cool website which promotes the launch of the phone.

The philosophy of Pinch is to design fantastic quality products for real peoples' lives. Their furniture is simple, utterly elegant, usable and tactile. It has a timeless quality and looks like its built to last. I love it and would adore to have this 'Twig Bench' in my kitchen. It was originally created for Neal's Yard Remedies Head Office using coppiced hazel. But now is available on their website. Other gorgeous creations include this fabulous table - the table is made from a single piece of solid oak - very cleaver.

Owner/Chef Oliver Rowe has succeeded in bringing locally sourced, seasonal food from all around Greater London to the heart of Kings Cross. Oliver Works with local, seasonal food so that as a customer we are constantly reminded of the changing food landscape over the course of the year. The design of the restaurant is sensational, pulling you in from the street. A real feast for the eyes and stomach - the chain mail curtains are genius and the sea blue floor and chairs create a calm atmosphere. Wonderful food in a truly unique environment - so anyone for lunch?

Lighting To Die For

Having an online shop and being a photographer, I have become obsessed with other online retailers, their images, products and style. One webshop that cup overfloweth in all these areas is Abigail Atelier Ahern. The site is a dream - easy to use, stunning images and luscious products.

I thought I would focus in on their lighting (I am currently on the quest for the perfectly lit room and seem to spend my life looking at lamps and light bulbs). The beautiful designs include the uber cool mouth blown glass pendant lamps, the theatrical, sculptural chandelier created from papier mache and the charming chandeliers designed using recycled glass. This site it well worth a visit.

My only complaint with this otherwise near perfect website is I wish the models would cheer up a bit.

These fabulous curtains have shaped my style at home. I have (all be it home made ones) Vintage hot pink lace curtains in my pure white bedroom. Nets are never coming back in to fashion however, its great to have something to let the light in, keep the neighbours out and occasionally to twitch. The Black lace curtain I lay over a white table cloth in the summer on my out side table. I love the extravagance and absurdity of mixing luxury and life and some thing that's an all time classic with a truly modern twist. I love the use of the Union Jack in furnishings - it adds an edgy British cool to practical items (even good old fashioned bunting). This Union Jack inspired Wall Hanging is designed by Lucinda Chambers for The Rug Company and I think it is inspired and would probably sell my soul for one. If you like this then The Rug Company is the place for you. It is not only a fabulous website (easy to use with gorgeous images), but the designs are breath taking.

A game I play quite alot when daydreaming is 'If I had enough money to buy whatever I wanted? What would I buy?' I love this game - in my dream world I shop for furniture, tableware, shoes, bags, jewellery, houses, holidays need I go on. But one place I always head to in my shopping dreams is Paul Smith.

Paul Smith is the King of British Design. He rules supreme especially now he has spread his regal wings into the interiors world. I love his use of the Union Jack on cushions, clothing and these great cuff links and gorgeous silk scarf. He rules with style, grace and humour - here are some of my current favourites.

This charm cuff is so cool and these fragile wing earring are just enchanting. We at rockettstgeorge just love black and white and these plates are just perfect.

I would love to buy these footballs for my little boy - although I thing the beauty of them may be lost on a 7 year old.

Morning Eggs

Having a young family and a busy working life, there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting down to a leisurely weekend breakfast. For us its eggs in any style - always a family favorite. The table strewn with papers, a pile of real butter soldiers cut from a loaf and boiled eggs.

There is nothing tastier than fresh eggs and there is nothing better than sending the kids into the garden to collect them from the chicken coup (when we visit country friends they love it.) Obviously it is a little tricky to keep chickens in central London but after seeing this fantastic pink hen house, I'm tempted to give it a go!

Omlet ltd designed the eglu for the town garden, the first time chicken owner, the family and the eco-savvy individual. Apparently it is as easy as looking after a goldfish but more rewarding than owning a dog (you get eggs with chickens!). Oh yes you can keep rabbits and guinea pigs in them too!

My other favourite breakfast items are: the Wee Woosh Egg Shell collection, this fantastic pure wood toast rack both from rockettstgeorge.co.uk and the ingenious egg boilers and fry shapes from pedlars.

Susannah Hunter launches Furniture Range

Susannah Hunter started making her beautiful botanical bags in her bedroom in Hampstead, London and now she has clients including Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman.

Susannah has now launched a range of furniture decorated with her trademark applique flower motifs. The collection includes a stunning chair which I would love to curl up on and enjoy a cup of tea, a footstool to rest my weary feet and several ottoman - what really appeals to me however is this incredibly gorgeous screen - it absolutely takes my breath away.

Powder Room Experience

Now if you are caught short in central London and are absolutely desperate to use the little girls room (Bathroom for our friends across the pond) you can now go to the luxurious powder room concept WC1. It is a deluxe ladies-only pop in retreat on London's Oxford Street. Being obsessed as I am with everything I see - going to public toilets can be quite upsetting, but these beautifully designed water closets are to be admired.

I just love this idea and will definitely be paying WC1 a visit soon. I will be checking-in at their sumptuously designed reception area. Chilling in the peaceful surroundings of the Powder Room - I may even have a quick cleanse and moisturise before I complete my visit with a quick visit to the Water Closet. All for just £5 - I Can't Wait.

Last year we visited the best of the university shows at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London - this is where we first saw Laura Stanley. Laura had recently graduated from Staffordshire University with a BA Hons in Surface Pattern Design, but what attracted us to her work is Laura's fabulous lavender bags. Rain, Rain, Bloody Rain

If you live in the UK, one aspect of British life that you have to get used to is the rain. For the past few weeks it has rained and rained and rained. I hate the rain. It is not my friend. It ruins my mood, my shoes and most importantly it does something to my hair which makes me look like I have had an electric shock.

But I do love umbrellas - here are a few that make me smile (not that you can see my face through the mass of frizzy hair due to all the rain.)

These can all be found at Umbrella Art - a website which seems to offer as many quirky umbrella options as a girl could ever need.

I also love the traditional shape of this umbrella from Plumo - could do with being a more exciting colour however.

Lastly, the umbrellas I really love are the ones not to keep the rain off, but the sun. The only place to buy these are from the Indian Garden Company (unfortunatly they wholesale only, but I am trying to fine stockists) who make the most beautiful umbrellas in a rainbow of colours. They are gorgeous.

Every now and again you find a designer who creates such an amazing eclectic mix of products that do not link together in any way other than that they are all inspired and unique. Jethro Macey is just one of those designers and it is no surprise that he has won awards from RSA and Hidden Art.

Here is some examples of his work including his fantastic Concrete Lace Floor Tiles, his retro-tastic Flying Duck Coat Hooks and his Plywood Lamp. He is promising a candle (made for a cake) in the style of a candelabra - I want one.

I think I saw the sun yesterday - I immediately turned my face up to it and enjoyed the warm glow on my skin. I relaxed and thought , not long now before all the grey skies and rain is gone and summer will be here. There is nothing better than a Summer Holiday and what better than these fabulous vintage vacations to get back to my childhood roots.

Vintage Vacations offers holiday in vintage American trailers on the Isle of White. The trailers are situated on a working farm run by 5 girls. These girls have paid particular attention to the interiors of their trailers - adding retro and vintage pieces to complete to experience. I love it.

I received an email yesterday from Jennifer Rodgers inviting me to look at some of her illustrations - I was delighted to find a gorgeous mix beautiful images with a naughty twist! Jennifer can be found on warmtoastcafe.com and has been shortlisted in the NOISE festival.

Also do take a look at Jennifer's MySpace perfectly named fancypantsrodgers - I particularly love her choice of track which plays while you look at her work - it made me laugh out loud!

Jennifer also won a competition at 'Lascivious' Lingerie and her work is showcased on their website - pretty pants and some steaming hot wallpaper! Really worth a look.

I love classic design, simplicity and style, but sometimes you need something to surprise you, cheer you up and make you smile. That is exactly was happened today when I discovered Guy Arzi. He is an Israeli designer based in Derbyshire. His designs are bright and beautiful, bold and humorous. He believes that instead of throwing things away we should creatively alter generating new life in otherwise useless items.

Here is a couple of his fantastic chairs created from old cinema seats.

Plus I love this jewellery stand and hat stand made using vintage antlers and artificial flowers.

Magnetic Wallpaper - Wow

Having a little stroll around the net this evening I came across something fantastic. The possibilities for further designs and home creativity are endless. It is Magnetic Wallpaper from Pepper-Mint. The way it works is you buy your magnetic wallpaper which comes in black, sky blue and white and then you buy magnet kits of your choice - here are a few examples.

The choices so far don't really thrill me but I think the idea and the possibilities are brilliant and would love to see where it goes next.

Wendy Daws - Memory Blanket

Whilst enjoying a fantastic day strolling from one design show to another in the gorgeous heat of last summer's London Design Week. We came across Wendy Daws and her amazing Memory Blanket at the FuseUK Show in Broadway Market, Hackney

The 'memory blanket' consists of silhouettes of human groups 'sewn' together in the form of a blanket. The connected shapes are suspended in order that shadows are created so that the projected image may become the focus of attention. The story is unrecognisable until the work is spotlit. Then the shapes shown resemble the thoughts and memories of childhood - really very clever design.

Wendy has now developed the idea to create these beautiful lights - being slightly obsessed with lighting, I would really love one of these.

Drying Up

I love to tidy my kitchen. I am one of those strange people who take great satisfaction in clear work tops, tidy cupboards and a shiny sink. I love to tidy so much that I have all my crockery and glassware on view on shelves - and they always look fantastic. I'm a bit like Monica from Friends without the great cooking! In my kitchen cleaning heaven there is nothing I like better than a great tea towel. Here are some of my favourites.

Julie Haslam of Domestic Bliss has the most original of the retro tea towels available on the market. She uses shopping lists written by her grandmother as her inspiration.

Moving along the path between retro and contemporary - I love LovelyLovely's edgy designs especially these city tea towels - Las Vegas and New York also available.

Lastly ending up at the fantastic Unity Peg's door who make great designs in both tea towels and tablecloths. These 'On The Shelf' collection are my favourite but there are many more to see so do check out their site.

I don't know about you but during January and February I always feel tired. It is the dark dreary days and the boring reality of being short on cash after the Christmas celebrations. At these times I think the only answer is to take to my bed. Whenever I have the chance I make myself the perfect cup of tea or glass of wine (depending on the time of day) and take my favourite interiors magazine Living Etc to bed with me - day or night!

Glancing at their website recently I discovered some beautiful bedrooms that would be perfect for my exhausted self.

Indulge your feminine side with silky fabrics on blinds and furnishings. The wardrobe doors are particularly beautiful. They are inlaid with laser-cut marquetry in dyed veneers together with tiny pieces of abalone and mother of pearl.

If I really wanted to hide away I would create a cosy nest by mixing chunky rugs, soft knits and colourful throws as seen in this lovely attic bedroom.

I first saw the Duffy London Chandelier image a few years ago and still love it just as much as the first time I saw it. Brilliant design idea to create lighting out of an image of a gorgeous chandelier printed on cotton stretched over a frame with ultra-thin fluorescent lights inside. The effect is subtle lighting and a piece of art.

The clever Duffy London people also create bespoke prints and being a mum, I love this clever portrait - something really special to keep forever.

Phillippe Starck - Genius

There is only one Philippe Starck - Renowned for his innovative approach to design, Philippe Starck’s projects ranging from his futuristic Juicy Salif lemon squeezer through a whole chronology of chairs to bathroom fittings, huge plastic sofa's, watches and weather stations - reveal the reason why he never fails to delight and surprise his audience.

This is his new Super Archimoon Outdoor light - not only is the light beautiful, but I though I would include this image to remind you all of summer evening by the sea - seems like a long time ago!

Sixixis - Clever Wood Bending Guys

sixixis was created by three graduates who didn't want to have to give up designing and making their own ideas. The three clever guys are six (Tom Raffield), ix (Chris Jarratt) and is (Charlie Whinney). They studied 3D Design for Sustainability together at Falmouth College of Arts. The guys transform locally available unseasoned wood into never imagined before objects using their own new inventions and ideas. They achieve 3D bends in solid, unseasoned wood that no-one else can. They have set up a new studio in Cornwall, equipped with many types of customised steam bending equipment. It all happens under one roof, from the first crazy thought – to the final checks and packing of the products. This approach gives the guys 100% control over all aspects of the business, so everything they make is of the highest quality, and only uses the materials and processes they choose.

Check out some of these fantastic designs! The amazing Cityscape Coat hanger, the Chaise Longue No4 and the Giant Curly Shade.

Sixixis are not afraid of ambitious projects. Designed using the rules of mathematics, this is a Rolling House created purely out of wood. It is a playhouse made for children that can be rolled to any part of your garden and fixed with childproof legs. I think it is a piece of Sculptural Art!

In our never ending search for new designers, Lucy recently saw Johanna Basford's designs at the London Design Centre in Islington, London and sent me off immediately to look at her work on her website and she was right (as always) . Johanna's designs are intricate works of art. Her Crazy Botanic circular design is featured on cushions, wallpaper and lampshades - beautiful and check out her damask lam p shades too - fantastic design.

Other designs that shouldn't be missed are Insectiana 2 , Bella, and Midnight Butterfly. My favourite however, is the gorgeous Pe king design shown here as wallpaper - leaves me speechless.

Forget the Big Brother Celebrities - What about the decor?

Big Brother, celebrities, bullying, it's all the papers can write about and everyone has their view - but although I detest bullying what I want to know is where did they get those fantastic coffee cups and who designed the incredible sofas.

I have done a little research and the beautiful ribbon effect cups are available from Villeroy & Boch and from a Collection named NewWaveCaffe.

Ambience Contracts supplied the Sliced Sofa (designed by New talent Frederick Van Heerveld) which is not only waterproof but also fire proof - great for all the smokers in the house. The sofa commands a £4,500 price tag, excluding VAT, as it is made from handcut slices of foam which are glued together, then finished with layers of a special coating that makes it waterproof and fire-resistant. This price is a little high for most of us, but the people at Ambience Contracts are looking into producing a polypropylene version which would make it more affordable. In addition to the famous sofa, there are many more beautiful pieces of furniture to find at this company - feast your eyes on these!

When you are obsessed with what you see (like we are) - everything visual is important. It's not just kitchen which needs to look fantastic, its the cup that you drink your morning tea from, its the chair you sit in, the tea holder you took the tea bag from (or tea flower if you are really on it), the milk jug, the slippers, the plate for your toast, the cutlery, the radio - need I go on. It is all has to be beautiful and if you get it right - it makes you happy.

As this is the morning of our blogging life - a eye-pleasing breakfast makes for a wonderful day.
